The pen is mightier than the sword, so if your combat skills lean toward wordsmithing, this is for you. By popular demand from our Discord community, we’re launching a new Halloween-themed flash fiction contest today!
Spin your spookiest Halloween yarn (set in the world of State of Decay) in 200 words or less and submit it on our #Flash-Fiction-Contest channel in our Discord. You MUST include the trigger !FlashFic (either before or after your story) in order for your submission to be counted. By using this trigger, a single emoji will be applied to your submission, allowing fellow Survivors to vote for your story. Without the trigger, your entry will not qualify!
THREE winners will be announced on October 31st during our livestream and each will receive a Red Talon hoodie from the Xbox Gear Shop, perfect for wearing over your trick-or-treating fit.
The deets:
- A Halloween + State of Decay themed short story in 200 words or less
- Post it in the #Flash-Fiction-Contest channel in our Discord
- Your submission MUST include the trigger !FlashFic in order to qualify and for a single emoji to be applied
- Vote on your favorites by NOON PT on October 31st!
- Contest opens Tuesday, October 18 and closes at midnight PT on Monday, October 31st
- Winners will be announced during our 3PM PT livestream on Monday, October 31st (Tune in on Twitch or YouTube!)
- Note: We have to say it even though we all should know better by now BUT if it’s not obvious, themes of racism, homophobia, pr0n will be automatically disqualified and can also result in a ban. Follow our Community Guidelines and you’ll be fine.
