Originally released in 2018, and later remastered as State of Decay 2: The Juggernaut Edition in 2020, your fortified shelters become fragile homes, supply runs turn into desperate gambles, and neighboring groups shift between allies, rivals, and looming threats. Whether you’re carving out a future on your own or surviving alongside friends in co‑op, every community takes on a life of its own.

Combat

When the dead close in, survival demands adaptability. Fight with stealth, precision, raw force, or desperation using an arsenal that ranges from battered melee weapons to rare and powerful firearms. Hundreds of different weapons can be found or crafted, including some that are exceptionally rare and worth seeking out. Every scavenging run carries the possibility of finding something invaluable — if you make it back alive.

MEET THE ENEMY

The undead are only the beginning. Blood Plague twists the world into something more dangerous, spawning grotesque Plague Hearts and infected horrors that spread corruption across the map. Reclaiming territory means facing what the apocalypse is still becoming.

FOUR-PLAYER CO-OP

Survival is hard enough alone. In four-player co-op, friends can join each other’s communities to scavenge resources, fight off hordes, and help steady the chaos when things begin to fall apart. Every supply run, rescue, and narrow escape becomes a story shared together.

ADDITIONAL GAME MODES

Included in State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition are two distinct ways to experience the apocalypse. Heartland explores a story-driven return to Trumbull Valley, uncovering new characters and long-buried secrets. In Daybreak, up to four players stand together against relentless waves of the undead in a desperate fight to survive until dawn.
